Bulk DVD duplication differs from bulk DVD replication in that a brand-new DVD is not manufactured from scratch. Instead, data is copied onto reliable blank media, resulting in a short turnaround time of between three and five days.

After the discs have been duplicated, they can be printed on by using either a 5-colour silk screen process or an offset lithographic process.
